Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 June 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the use of the CastShield service — protection of Minecraft servers against DDoS attacks, bots and cheaters (edge filter, control panel, anti-cheat, captcha; the “Service”). By registering for and/or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and fully accept these Terms. If you disagree with even one provision, do not use the Service.
A breach of these Terms — in particular attacks on the Service or Protected servers, payment fraud (chargebacks, account theft) and attempts to circumvent the protection — entails immediate suspension or blocking of the account without any refund. In addition:
- IP addresses involved in an attack (the entire pool) are blocked indefinitely, including at the kernel level (XDP).
- Attack sources (IP, ASN, behavioural signatures) are recorded and submitted to public abuse databases (AbuseIPDB and similar) and to the abuse contacts of hosting providers — which harms the IP’s reputation in the feeds of operators and protection networks and usually leads to your servers being blocked by your own hosting provider.
- Attack data is retained and, upon an official request, disclosed to law-enforcement authorities in order to identify the organisers of attacks and the owners of botnets.
01General provisions
Operator: the administration of the CastShield project (the “Operator”, “we”). Contact details are set out in the “Contacts” section.
These Terms are a public document. Use of the Service (registering an account, connecting a server, paying for a Plan) constitutes unconditional acceptance of its provisions.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
02Definitions
- “Service” — the CastShield hardware-and-software complex and the related web resources (website, control panel, API).
- “Client” (“User”) — a person who has registered an account and uses the Service.
- “Player” — an end user who connects to the Client’s Protected server through the Service’s network.
- “Account” — the Client’s account in the control panel.
- “Plan” — the service plan selected by the Client with a defined set of features and limits.
- “Protected server” — the Client’s Minecraft server connected to the Service.
03Subject of the Terms
The Operator grants the Client access to the Service for filtering traffic and protecting Protected servers against DDoS attacks, bots, spam and cheats, as well as access to the control panel and related features — to the extent determined by the selected Plan.
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The specific set of features and the limits are determined by the Plan and may change.
04Registration and account
To use the Service, the Client registers an Account, providing accurate and up-to-date information.
The Client is fully responsible for keeping their credentials secure and for all actions performed under their Account. Enabling two-factor authentication is recommended.
The Client must immediately notify the Operator of any unauthorised access to the Account.
05Plans, payment and refunds
Paid Plans are paid for through the payment provider FreeKassa. The price and the scope of Plans are stated on the website and/or in the control panel.
A free plan (if available) may have functional and resource limitations and is provided without warranties.
The terms and procedure for refunds are governed by the public Offer (the “Refunds” section). As a general rule, a paid period is non-refundable where the Account is blocked for a breach of these Terms.
The Operator may change the scope and price of Plans by giving notice on the website; such changes do not apply to a period already paid for.
06Acceptable use and prohibited conduct
When using the Service, the Client undertakes NOT to engage, in particular, in the following conduct:
- attacking the Service, its infrastructure, other users or their servers (DDoS, flooding, brute-force, exploitation of vulnerabilities, scanning);
- using the Service for any unlawful activity or to host or transit illegal content;
- circumventing Plan limits, technical protection measures or filtering systems;
- obtaining unauthorised access to the Service, reverse-engineering, decompiling or interfering with its operation;
- reselling or providing access to the Service to third parties without the Operator’s written permission;
- distributing malware through the Service or infringing the rights of third parties.
The Client is solely responsible for their Protected servers, the content hosted on them and the actions of their Players, as well as for the lawfulness of such activity.
In the event of a breach of this section, the Operator may immediately suspend or block the Account without any refund; attack data is processed in accordance with the “Violations & attacks” block above and the Privacy Policy.
07Rights and obligations of the Operator
The Operator may: suspend or restrict access in the event of a breach of the Terms, a security threat or non-payment; carry out scheduled and emergency maintenance; develop and modify the Service; keep logs of traffic and attacks.
The Operator undertakes to: use reasonable efforts to ensure the availability and operability of the Service; process personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
08Rights and obligations of the Client
The Client may: use the Service within the limits of the selected Plan and these Terms; contact support.
The Client undertakes to: comply with the Terms and applicable law; pay for the selected Plan on time; refrain from prohibited conduct; ensure the lawfulness of their Protected servers and content.
09Service availability and disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is”, without any warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Temporary unavailability, maintenance, failures and force majeure events are possible.
Target availability levels (SLA), where applicable to a Plan, are set out in a separate Service Level Agreement (SLA).
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, loss of data, the acts of third parties, unavailability of the Service due to force majeure, or for the content and actions of the Client and their Players.
The Operator’s aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount actually paid by the Client for the Service for the last three (3) months.
11Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, trademarks, texts and other materials belong to the Operator and/or its licensors. Use of the Service does not transfer to the Client any rights in these items, other than the right to use the Service for its intended purpose.
12Suspension and termination
The Operator may suspend or terminate access to the Service in the event of a breach of the Terms — including immediately and without any refund in the case of attacks, payment fraud or other gross violations.
The Client may discontinue use of the Service and delete their Account at any time.
13Personal data
The processing of personal data when using the Service is carried out in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
14Changes to the Terms
The Operator may amend these Terms. The current version and the date of the last update are stated on this page. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
15Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. Disputes are resolved in the manner established by the applicable law, where possible through negotiation.
A pre-litigation (claim) procedure is mandatory: a claim is to be sent to abuse@castgame.net and is reviewed within a reasonable period.
